Who We Are
Ithaka began with a search for purpose. After returning home from a 14-month tour in Iraq and transitioning out of the Army, I found myself drawn to working with my hands, starting with something as simple as crafting wooden spoons for my mother. What began as a small project quickly grew into a deep appreciation for craftsmanship and creating something meaningful for others.
That passion stayed with me, even while pursuing seminary and working in ministry. Over time, I continued building, remodeling, taking on projects, and eventually constructing my first home in 2018. In 2021, the opportunity to take on a larger project led me to fully commit to this path. With the support of my wife and four daughters, Ithaka was born, and it’s been forward ever since.
Jake Todd | Owner
Originally from Kentucky, Jake is a former US Army armor officer who served for nine years, developing exceptional leadership and strategic skills. A 2006 Ole Miss business school graduate with a Master of Divinity from Southern Seminary, Jake also trained in cabinet and furniture making. For seven years, he served as a bi-vocational teacher, principal, and builder before launching Ithaka in 2021. Married to Lezlie Wilkerson of Ripley, they reside in Oxford with their four daughters. Jake is a published poet who spends his spare time supporting his daughters' pursuits while working toward Spanish fluency and writing a novel about his Iraq experience.
Kyle Reeder | Operations Manager
A Pontotoc native, Kyle brings extensive construction industry experience to Ithaka. He studied Art with an emphasis in Sculpture at Ole Miss, developing a keen appreciation for craftsmanship and detail. Beginning his career in 2012 as a residential remodeler, Kyle transitioned to commercial construction, managing multi-million dollar projects alongside architects, engineers, and designers. Drawing on his creative background, Kyle combines an artist's eye for design with a builder's precision. He's dedicated to raising residential construction standards through thoughtful assessments, quality control, and practical design solutions. Kyle finds inspiration in his wife of 15 years, Rhianna, and their four children.
